Saving Grace

Saving grace from Jesus Christ brings us the joy and freedom of knowing the Love of our Savior. Jesus gives us eternal life and the forgiveness of sin.5bUnto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 7Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. 8I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty (Rev. 1:5b–8, KJV). The Almighty Creator walked into the tomb with unlimited energy and raised his Son from the grave. Jesus Christ overcame death by the power of the Resurrection. Our Lord walked that first path from death and the grave to eternal life. Now Jesus sits by the Father in Heaven today and invites each of us to join him at the Throne. Our Savior … loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. The word washed louo meant to bathe or wash a person’s body, or to cleanse blood from his wounds.[i] Verse 5 gave us a picture of our Redeemer cleansing sin from people who are dead or wounded in spirit. Our Savior then cleansed their dirty wounds with his blood and gave them life forever (Eph. 1:7; 1 John 1:7). The Golden ThreadOne sunny October day, I was walking in a city park near our home in Portland. I saw a gold-colored maple leaf slowly turning in the breeze about five feet above the path. I could not see what held the leaf up and circled it to see why it didn’t fall. I finally saw a long thin thread that hung from a spider web in the tree above. The strong thread held the leaf above the walkway. Thinking about the maple leaf floating in the air, I knew that God holds each of his children by an unseen power. God keeps each of us from falling into the fires of hell by a long slender thread. Our Savior holds us from slipping into the bubbling caldron by the power of his Resurrection. The other end of the invisible thread hooks to the cross of Jesus Christ. As long as we look at Jesus, we will never fall to eternal destruction even when the winds of life buffet us. “Father I thank and praise you saving us and giving us your love, grace, and mercy. Thanks for the forgiveness of my sins and for eternal life. Lord, I look forward to meeting you at your Throne in Heaven and praising you forever and ever. Amen!” Our Place in HeavenThe Almighty again promises his Church that if they hang on and win the victory, he will give them a crown (stephanos).[2] The crown indicates eternal blessings that God gives as a prize to the genuine servants of God. Our Savior is … coming soon. John wrote this some 1900 years ago. Soon or quickly means immediately. A few hours before Jesus was arrested and crucified, he gave words of comfort and promise to his disciples. 1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:1–3, KJV). After our Redeemer rose from death on the cross, he returned to Heaven and prepared a place for all his present and future children. Our Savior came back each time one of his disciples died and escorted them to his home in Heaven. Jesus also came back for each of his followers at Philadelphia as they died.
Saving grace and glory from ChristThe Savior of the World comes back today to meet each saint after his or her physical death. Our Faithful and True God then authenticates their gift certificate of redemption. If it is genuine he takes them right through the open door into Heaven. Our All-Wise God who richly supplies then takes them down mansion avenue: he helps each saint pick a special home for eternity.
